On the Thanksgiving Guest List? Lolita

The Holiday

The Bath and Body Works 3-wick Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte candle is burning in the background, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is 15 floats deep (Hello, Garfield!), and our stomachs are growling in preparation for the big meal. It’s almost Thanksgiving and while everyone loves to skip over the most fulfilling (literally!) holiday of the year in order to make a beeline straight for peppermint and Santa’s nice list, we like to take it all in (ahem, first in line for seconds). Time to drink up the atmosphere, the season, and of course, the wine (lots and lots of wine)!

The Cocktail

Don’t ask the question, “red or white?”, at your dinner table this year. This drink has “pairs nicely with everything” written all over it.

Apple Pie Sangria

  • 1 green apple, cored and cubed
  • 1 red apple, cored and cubed
  • 1 pear, cored and cubed
  • 1/2 orange, cut into small wedges
  • 1 750ml bottle Pinot Grigio (or your favorite mild white wine)
  • 1 cup salted caramel (or caramel) vodka
  • 3 cups apple cider
  • 1/4 cup apple pie spice simple syrup (recipe below!)
  • 2 cinnamon sticks, plus more for garnish

In a large pitcher, add the apple cubes, pear cubes, and orange wedges. Top with wine, vodka, apple cider, and simple syrup.

Refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight. Stir before serving.

*Apple Pie Spice Simple Syrup

Here's what you will need:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom
  • 1/8 teaspoon allspice

Combine water, sugar, and spices in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil. Simmer for about 10 minutes or until the sugar is dissolved and a thicker syrup forms. Chill and store in the refrigerator until you’re ready to use it.

The Glass

Invite Lolita to this years’ Thanksgiving with the “Thankful for Wine” Wine Glass. Lolita is the perfect dinner guest with colorful attire, useful advice (cocktail recipes anyone?!), and her ability to fill a room with love and laughter. You never have to ask Lolita what she’s thankful for- it’s written all over her face. Just be warned a dinner with Lolita always ends with dancing!
