After a long, hard, year we’re ready to celebrate summer! While we love a nice cocktail, chardonnay or sangria, this fourth of July we’re looking for something a little more fun! This colorful Red, White, and Blue shot by Lipgloss and Crayons will be the life of the party this July fourth.
INGREDIENTS:
Blue Layer
- One 3 ounce box berry blue jello mix
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 1/2 cup blue raspberry vodka
White Layer
- 1 envelope (1 tablespoon) unflavored gelatin powder
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 1/2 cup boiling water
- 1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup vodka
Red Layer
- One 3 ounce box cherry jello mix
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 1/2 cup cherry vodka
Equipment
- 48 2-ounce plastic cups with lids
DIRECTIONS:
Place the plastic cups on a baking sheet so they are lined up and ready to be filled. Set aside.
Blue Layer
- Place the jello powder into a medium mixing bowl (preferably with a pour spout).
- Pour the boiling water over the jello powder while whisking constantly. Continue to whisk until the powder is completely dissolved.
- Add the cold water and vodka to the jello. Stir to combine.
- Fill each of the plastic cups 1/3 full with jello. Refrigerate the jello for 1 hour or until set and wobbly.
White Layer
- Place the gelatin powder in a medium mixing bowl. Pour the cold water of the powder. Give everything a quick stir and let rest so the power absorbs into the water.
- Pour the boiling water into the bowl and whisk to combine.
- Add the sweetened condensed milk and vodka. Stir to combine.
- Pour the jello mixture into each of the plastic cups so that they are 2/3 full. Refrigerate the jello for 1 hour or until set and wobbly.
Red Layer
- Place the jello powder into a medium mixing bowl (preferably with a pour spout).
- Pour the boiling water over the jello powder while whisking constantly. Continue to whisk until the powder is completely dissolved.
- Add the cold water and vodka to the jello. Stir to combine.
- Fill each of the plastic cups until full with jello. Refrigerate the jello for 2-3 hours or until completely set.
- Cover with lids and stack in a storage container in the fridge until ready to serve.
NOTES:
Be sure to let each layer set up before pouring the next layer over the top.
